No Excuse to Go Green-Even if it’s On The Go

truck farm 2 630 No Excuse to Go Green Even if its On The GoGreens on the Go

This story shows how if you want something bad enough there is a creative solution to make it happen…

Filmmakers Curt Ellis and Ian Cheney live in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY and this is there way of gardening in an urban city.

This duo planted arugual, lettuce, tomatoes, hot peppers and more in this 1986 Doge Ram-which by the way is there only vehicle.

Not only did they harvest for themselves with this mobile garden they started a CSA and fed 20 people from it at only $20 a pop…AMAZING.

These witty filmmakers feel that this is in response to living in a place where they are surrounded by not much more than living quarters, liquor stores and are not near fresh food what so ever-Creative agriculture at it’s best if you ask me.

“Mobile” Gardening

So many people have the desire to grow their own food or herbs but are in such tight spaces that they just don’t do it BUT if there is a will there is ALWAYS a way.

You might not have a truck bed to use as a home for your garden but you can always do what my sister in law and good friend does by using pots or whatever you can find that fits into your lifestyle.

Eating fresh organic/natural food is always better than settling for processed crap sold at the corner store…plus this process can be really great with kids who some don’t even know where food really comes from-they think it just appears in the grocery store.

Growing your own plants is liberating, great for your health, great for the environment and just a fantastic contribution to Mother Earth!

SO LETS GET GROWING ALREADY!!!

I loved this story about planting in the truck bed. HA! Genius!

Check out the progress of my garden on my blog. I'm so excited about this year's crop. I've never planted in beds before and all my veggies are so beautiful. It's an all new concept for gardening for me but I'm loving it!

    How is your garden going?

Hey girl…your garden looks great…we used our beds this year for some of our THIRTY tomato plants. Should have tomatoes coming out our ears this year.
